AF16-N Turbidity Sensor

Single Channel Turbidity Sensor

High precision sensor for direct installation into pipelines measuring NIR light absorption of various liquid samples. The optical path length can be individually configured to meet the process control requirements with the highest accuracy.

Used For

  • Turbidity scales:
    • CU (concentration units)
    • ppm (DE)
    • FTU (ISO)
    • EBC (ASBC)
  • Turbidity based
    • interface detection in food and beverage
    • separator control
    • filter control
    • detection of water in oil (edible, lube)
    • detection of oil in water / condensate

Designed for inline operation the AF16-N turbidity sensor is applied across many different industries, for a wide range of applications. With a broad capability from fairly low turbidity measurements to heavy slurries and the ability to easily monitor or control processes with high precision, makes it suitable to any area, where suspended solids in liquids are important.

Separator control is a common application for optek AF16-N sensors. While sensors can be used to monitor feed and concentrate for various reasons the first and most logical installation is often to monitor the centrate (clarified stream) to control centrifuge de-sludge intervals based on data rather than time intervals, which reduces unnecessary upsets and wear on the separator.
