Beverages and Brewing

optek photometric analyzers bring a level of precise control to the brewing process never before possible. This includes continuous monitoring of color, yeast and solids concentration and haze inline. optek instruments help you achieve uninterrupted processing of your best quality product, with reduced product loss and improved profitability and efficiency.

Durable, precision probes and inline sensors help brewers maintain product consistency by monitoring and controlling turbidity, trub carryover, vent dosing and color as well as fermentation, centrifugal separation, filtration and many other cost-critical, quality-critical processes. In addition, optek now offers a state-of-the-art lab turbidity/haze analyzer and NIST-traceable calibration solution standards.

Beverage, Brewing Applications: Wort Clarity, Turbidity, Haze Analysis
Brewing

optek products have proven very beneficial throughout the entire brewing process. Inline, real time monitoring provides the means to achieve maximum yield of consistent quality wort, and to avoid product loss during pushouts, filtration and separation. Centrifugal separations can be monitored and controlled to achieve maximum efficiency, maximum throughput and minimum product cost.

Equally important, brewers save money when they extend the life of their filters and reduce their consumption of filter aids (DE). Extended filter life also means less downtime. Optical measurements can also be used extensively in the brewery to measure yeast concentration, pitching and cell growth. Inline monitoring during bottling provides an important final check for product quality prior to shipping or storage.
