A commercial bottle or cuvette containing the sample to be measured is placed in the measuring chamber (4), rotated, and then sampled 250 times.
Light from a Tungsten lamp (1) is precisely defined and filtered by the primary optics module (2), then passes through a window (2) and into the sample chamber (3), where the light is scattered by turbidity and fine haze in the sample.
Light scattered in the forward direction is presisly defined by the forward scatter optics (5) and detected by eight hermetically sealed silicon photo diodes set at an angle of 11° (6). Light that is not scattered is detected by the direct beam photo diode (7).
Side scatter light scattered is focused by the side scatter optics (8) and detected by the side scatter photo diode (9) at an angle of 90°.
The resulting photocurrents are precisely sampled, amplified, converted, analyzed, and recorded by the DT9011.
