Fluxes are used in the various aluminum brazing operations such as the Nocolok® Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) process mainly used in the manufacture of automotive heat exchangers like radiators, condensers, heater cores and charge air coolers.
|
Fluxes like Nocolok® Flux and Esprix’s FL-7® are a fine white powder. This powder is then mixed with treated de-ionised water forming a slurry. Since this flux is insoluble in water, the flux slurry tank must be continuously stirred to prevent the flux from settling. For optimal brazing results, the flux concentration must remain consistent.

Measuring Aluminum Brazing Flux Concentration Benefits |
- Exact flux loading
- Automatically monitor and control flux concentrations
- Reduce flux usage
|
| Wet Flux Slurry Concentration |
By using optek process turbidity meters to monitor the flux concentration directly at the point of delivery or in the flux tank using a photometric probe, the flux concentration can be maintained in real time. This innovative method provides improved surface treatment resulting in optimal brazing and greatly reduced scrap and rework costs.
